Bio: My name is Collin Michaels and I’m a senior at Campbell Memorial High School. I am team captain of the Campbell Memorial baseball team, playing first base and pitching. 

What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on attending Youngstown State University, where I will be majoring in Exercise Science, then further my education in Physical Therapy. 

What is your favorite class?
CCP English. 

What do you enjoy most about playing this sport?
I enjoy the atmosphere most while playing baseball. 

What type of volunteer work are you involved in within your community?
I do many things throughout the community which include, working the chains for the CLRD, recorded the varsity basketball games, worked the pancake breakfast at St. Lucy’s Church, worked the concession stand at Christ the Good Shepherd Church, worked the food drive for the Difference Makers, and sold tickets for the class of 2021. 

What is the most memorable moment in your scholastic career?
My most memorable moment in my scholastic career is getting inducted into the National Honors Society. 

What is your favorite sports related movie?
Major League

Who has the best nickname on the team and what is it?
The best nickname on the team is Big Juicy, that is what we call Harry

Who is your role model?
Dad

What is your favorite food?
steak. 

Are you looking to continue your playing career in college?
Yes, I am looking to play college baseball.

Do you have a field of study already chosen when you go to college? Why that field?
Yes, Physical Therapy because I love helping others.

The Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians.

Winners announced for Girls’ Softball and Boys’ Baseball & Coaches of Mahoning Valley “Best of the Best”

(Youngstown, Ohio) Spanning the Need with Anthony Spano, and Malutic Live with Austin Malutic announce the 2021 Mahoning Valley Fan Baseball/Softball Players/Coaches of the Year as voted on by the fans. The voting, which lasted two weeks upon completion of the regular season, drew over 9101 votes, which were cast by Mahoning Valley area sports fans.

We are grateful for the support of the community during these difficult times. The list was compiled by the community in multiple ways during the allotted time frame through the specific schools and recommendations.  The goal was to recognize outstanding performances this past season and honor their achievements.

(Youngstown) – The Mahoning Valley Fan “Player & Coach of the Year,” presented by Spanning the Need with host Anthony Spano is announcing that voting for the Mahoning Valley’s girls’ softball, boys’ baseball, and coach of the year is now open, (VOTE NOW) concluding on Friday, May 14th at 3 pm as we give the fans the opportunity to vote for this year’s players and coaches of the year for Spring Sports. More than 45 Mahoning Valley schools (Trumbull, Mahoning, & Columbiana County) have taken part and submitted a player and/or coach for the honor of being named Player or Coach of the Year.

Throughout the voting period, fans may submit (VOTE NOWevery 24-hour cycle via the website through a designated email. All current top players from the Mahoning Valley (Trumbull, Mahoning & Columbiana) are available for selection after receiving input from the community.

Fans will account for 100 percent of all voting. Spanning the Need, with host Anthony Spano, and Malutic Live co-host, Austin Malutic, will reveal this year’s winners the week of May 16th on a special episode of Spanning the Need on our YouTube Channel. Check out www.AnthonyVSpano.com for day and time.

How Fans Can Vote:

Spanning The Need, A Cleveland Browns Pre-Draft Podcast Show Panel coming Monday Night

(Youngstown, OH) – Spanning the Need will be doing a live Cleveland Browns Pre-Draft podcast Show on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 7 pm. The podcast will air on Spanning the Need” Facebook.

The show will cover a variety of segments on the show; a recap of the 2020 Season/Pandemic, Off-Season Free Agency, Draft Opportunities for the Browns, and Future of the Cleveland Browns, just to name a few. The panel will be able to take questions from the viewers, where the viewers can submit questions in the comment section of the broadcast. Also, a new feature, Browns fans will be able to be on the show through a special link that will be provided to the viewers interested in being a part of the Pre-Draft Show conversation.

Group announces the Mahoning Valley Player and Coaches of the Year, Voted on by the Fans

(Youngstown, Ohio) Spanning the Need with Anthony Spano, and Malutic Live with Austin Malutic, is proud to announce the 2021 Mahoning Valley Fan Boys and Girl’s Players and Coaches of the Year as voted on by the fans. The voting, which lasted two weeks upon completion of the regular season, drew over 8400 votes, which were cast by Mahoning Valley area basketball fans.

All recipients were announced and recognized on March 7, ‘live’ on their respective shows, joining a prestigious rank of the Mahoning Valley’s “Best of the Best” this year.
