Spanning The Need Teams Up With ACTION on the “State of the Valley

(Youngstown, OH) – Spanning the Need and Mahoning Valley ACTION organization will take part in a panel discussion and conversation on the “State of the Valley” moderated by Anthony Spano. The broadcast will premiere live on Thursday, April 8 at 7pm on the Facebook page of “Spanning the Need,” www.facebook.com/anthonyvspano, then on their YouTube channel following the broadcast.

There will be several topics discussed such as suggestions on curbing violence in our communities, the importance of communication with all community leaders/public, and what successful initiatives or best practices have been or need to be accomplished to name a few. If time is available at the end, the panel would be able to take questions from the viewers, where the viewers are able to submit questions in the comment section of the broadcast.

Spanning the Need with Anthony Spano Kicks off its Mayoral Candidate Speaker Series Presented by Sherman Creative

(Youngstown, OH) – The public will have an opportunity to hear from the four mayoral candidates for Mayor of Youngstown on the podcast Spanning the Need and moderated by Anthony Spano. This is part of the Mayoral Candidate Speaker Series presented by Sherman Creative. Candidates for Youngstown Mayor that are participating in the series are Mayor Tito Brown, Ryan Kelly, Julius Oliver, and Tracey Winbush.

The candidates will provide information about themselves and have an opportunity to outline their platforms and answer questions by discussing the issues. The speaker series will cover a variety of topics from the economy, challenges facing the city and violence in our communities, just to name a few.

Group announces the Mahoning Valley Player and Coaches of the Year, Voted on by the Fans

(Youngstown, Ohio) Spanning the Need with Anthony Spano, and Malutic Live with Austin Malutic, is proud to announce the 2021 Mahoning Valley Fan Boys and Girl’s Players and Coaches of the Year as voted on by the fans. The voting, which lasted two weeks upon completion of the regular season, drew over 8400 votes, which were cast by Mahoning Valley area basketball fans.

All recipients were announced and recognized on March 7, ‘live’ on their respective shows, joining a prestigious rank of the Mahoning Valley’s “Best of the Best” this year.

Spanning the Need and Malutic Live is grateful for the support of the community during these difficult times. The list was compiled by the community in multiple ways during the allotted time frame.  The goal was to recognize outstanding performances this past season and honor their achievements.

(Youngstown) – The Mahoning Valley Fan “Player & Coach of the Year,” presented by Spanning the Need w/Anthony Spano and Malutic Live with Austin Malutic is announcing that voting for the Mahoning Valley scholastic boys and girls “Player & Coach of the Year” is now open, concluding on Friday, March 5th at midnight as we give fans the opportunity to vote for this year’s players and coaches of the year.

Voting runs until March 5th at midnight, giving local fans the opportunity to vote for the Mahoning Valley “Best of the Best.” VOTE NOW

Throughout the voting period, fans may submit (VOTE NOW) a vote every 24 hour cycle via the website through a designated email. All current top players are available for selection after receiving input from the community.

Fans will account for 100 percent of all voting.  Spanning the Need with host Anthony Spano and Malutic Live with host Austin Malutic will be revealed this year’s winners on Sunday, March 7 at 7pm on a special episode of Spanning the Need.

How Fans Can Vote:
Voting can be made at AnthonyVSpano.com/sports every 24 hours: Fill out one full ballot per day (per day is defined as once every 24 hours) from a desktop or mobile browser, registered by the e-mail address. The email will allow up to 12 total votes during the voting cycle from February 22 to March 5. Fans can select one boy, one girl player and a one coach from each category when choosing.

(Youngstown, OH) – Armstrong is partnering with Anthony Spano to bring the podcast, Spanning the Need with Anthony Spano, to The Armstrong Neighborhood Channel 100 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning the week of February 15, 2021 at 4:30pm.

The podcast, Spanning the Need, examines a variety of subjects that impact everyday life around the world.  Some of the topics include politics, heartfelt, feel-good stories, health, education, sports, and giveaways. “The podcast is new,” said Anthony Spano, “but I felt a calling to tell the stories in 2020 as part of my Masters course.”

The Christmas special will air on Armstrong Cable and is available on YouTube. The “Spanning the Need With Anthony Spano” podcast is helping Mahoning Valley residents get in tune with Christmas cheer. Spano, the founder of The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley and the Anthony V. Spano Foundation, brought together local performers for a virtual concert featuring a variety of Christmas songs.

The latest food trends, easy recipes and healthy meal ideas to help you cook smarter. Chef Christopher was on our podcast to show us how to cook easy holiday recipes for our home needs. The two simple recipes are for a homemade caesar dressing/salad and a carbonara sauce tossed in spaghetti. 

Homemade Caesar Dressing/Salad

Ingredients:
1 Pound of Spaghetti 
4 large eggs and 1 egg yolk
6 Ounces of diced Pancetta
2 Tablespoon of real lemon juice
1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil
¼ Cup of pure olive oil
2 Cups grated Romano
¼ Cup of grated Parmesan
Salt and Pepper to your taste

Optional: Frozen peas Fresh Italian parsley
Equipment needed: Blender or handheld emulsifier

Instructions: Wash and cut your Romain
Add all ingredients except olive and vegetable oil

Blend all ingredients well to a thicker substance, then slowly add both oils in a steady stream with the blender on low until you emulsify the dressing.

Add desired amount of extra Parmesan and croutons to the cut Romaine.

Pour dressing on to salad lightly and toss to coat the salad and serve in favorite salad plate.

Note: If you want to make your own croutons simply cube a thicker Italian or French bread and add pinches of dried basil, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add a few Tablespoons of vegetable oil and toss to coat the bread cubes and place on a nonstick cookie tray and bake them in oven set at 375 degrees.

Carbonara Sauce tossed in Spaghetti

Ingredients:
1 Pound of Spaghetti
4 large eggs and 1 egg yolk
6 Ounces of diced Pancetta
2 Tablespoon of real lemon juice
1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil
¼ Cup of pure olive oil
2 Cups grated Romano
¼ Cup of grated Parmesan
Salt and Pepper to your taste

Optional:
Frozen peas
Fresh Italian parsley

Equipment needed:
Stock Pot, Saute Pan, Bowl, Whisk, Tongs

Instructions: Boil water in a stock pot and add spaghetti stir every 45 seconds. Cook 8 minutes for perfect al dente pasta. While pasta is cooking , preheat your saute pan , then add vegetable oil and pancetta.

Saute pancetta the same way as you like your bacon cooked. Strain spaghetti and immediately add it to your bowl.

Add all the eggs, lemon juice, salt, pepper, pancetta, olive oil, and all the cheese, continue to stir non stop until the pasta gets creamy.

You can add the peas and parsley now if you choose. Transfer the pastra to your pasta bowl and garnish with more cheese if you wish.
