Vijay Iyer Trio

The Donald P. Pipino Performing Arts Series at Youngstown State University presents the Vijay Iyer Trio on November 4 at 7:30pm in the Chestnut Room in YSU Kilcawley Center.

The Vijay Iyer Trio made its name with four tremendously acclaimed and influential albums, including Accelerando, which was voted #1 Jazz Album of the Year. The Trio has also been named Jazz Group of the Year by DownBeat. Iyer has won Artist of the Year four times, ECHO Award (the “German Grammy”) for best international pianist and was named a MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Fellow.” Jazzwise (UK) stated, “The Vijay Iyer Trio has the potential to alter the scope, ambition, and language of jazz piano forever.” (Financial Times)
